As an Alaskan, I have sat back watching the media frenzy concerning Palin. Yep, Palin is my Governor who I did elect into office over Murkowski. Yep, I believed what she said. Yep, Palin has gotten everything she said she would do and more done. And yes, I did vote for McCain/Palin ticket.
So what is the problem with the MSM concerning her?
Alaska has had media swarms since she accepted the VP slot and campaigning with McCain. From Andrew Sullivan and his Trig-er Trutherism to Maureen Dowd and how bubble headed Palin supposedly was, to Katy Couric gotcha stupid questions, and now to Kathleen Parker a supposed Conservative whom write for the NRO and Washington Post.
All I can think is wow… and a humble wow at that. Are people THAT problematic concerning Palin? And why is that? Is it the fact that Palin is a beautiful woman? She didn’t go to an “ivy league” school? Had a disabled child? Slashed the Alaskan Budget is so many ways that the Democrat Legislatures were screaming about it? Took Murkowski’s gas pipeline project, that he started while Governor, and actually turned it around in which it could actually be built in the future? Her Husband is half native? Her kids are like everyone else’s in America and the World… not perfect?
I am at a loss on it. Honestly, this Alaskan wishes that whatever media groups are still up here would leave. I have met with CNN reporters, a couple of FOX interns and NBC New York interns and a New York Times reporter. And all of them are usually going out to the bars after their “long day” of tracking Palin-ism’s. What a crock.
I miss Alaska just being an unknown State. Where no-one knew much or anything about it, the people or what Alaska was really about. The tourists walking around Anchorage and other towns asking where the igloo’s, polar bears and penguins are. FYI, there are no penguins in Alaska, and Polar Bears do not usually go south of the Brooks Range.
It just makes me shake my head and wonder how desperate and scared the MSM actually is.
